+ Osano Raised $25M in Funding 

Texas-based data privacy platform Osano raised $25M in a Series B funding round. Investors include Baird Capital, Jump Capital,  LiveOak Venture Partners,  Next Coast Ventures,  TDF,  and First Ascent Ventures. The funds will enable the company to expand its team. 

 + PumpTech Received $25M in Funding

Founded in 1986, PumpTech distributes high-quality pumping products and systems in the Pacific Northwest. The $25M the company received will be used to aid in the acquisition of Alpha Southwest and Pipestone. Prior to the August backing, the company raised an undisclosed amount during a private equity round in 2021. 

+ Simon Data Raised $54M in Series D Round

In a Series D round, analytics and marketing automation startup Simon Data, Inc. raised $54M. Investors included: Macquarie Capital, Polaris, 406 Ventures, and F-Prime. Recently, the company added another built-in feature called Connected Segmentation and plans to use the funding for the continued expansion of tools.  

+ Tillman FiberCo Received $200M in Funding 

Tillman FiberCo is a New York-based telecommunications company that builds and operates high-speed internet infrastructure for commercial and residential sectors. With the investment of funds, Tillman FiberCo will advance its open-access network for customers.

+ Driver Technologies Raised $6M in Equity Funding

Driver Technologies is an AI-powered mobility tech company headquartered in New York, New York.  According to FINSME, The product converts drivers' phones into a dash cam designed to improve road safety and make mobility technology more accessible. The $6M funding round was led by IA Capital, and CT Innovations. Other participants include Liberty Mutual Strategic Ventures, State Auto Labs/Rev 1, as well as investors from The Social Entrepreneurs’ Fund, ID8 Investments, C2 Ventures and Kapor Capital.

🤝 CATCH UP ON AUGUST ACQUISITIONS

+ Thomson Reuters Acquired Westlaw Japan K.K. 

Thomson Reuters purchased a Japan-based company that provides law practice management, regulatory intelligence, and compliance learning for the legal industry. Thomson Reuters is a media conglomerate with more than 60 subsidiaries. Its last acquisition took place in June 2023.

+ AkzoNobel Acquired Sherwin-Williams'S Chinese Decorative Paints Business

Vehicle paint and specialty chemicals provider AkzoNobel purchased the Sherwin-Williams Chinese Decorative Paints business for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition will boost the company’s position in China and further its market segmentation according to CollisionWeek

+ Rockstar Games Acquired Cfx.re

Video game developer and publisher Rockstar Games acquired Cfx.re, the company behind FiveM and RedM, a California-based SaaS platform that enables gamers to play multiplayer on customized dedicated servers.

+ Simon & Schuster Acquired by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co.

Private equity firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR) acquired famed publishing company Simon & Schuster along with LEAP India and Synovus Bank's Prime Auto Loans Portfolio during the month of August. The latest acquisitions bring KKR’s total to 169 subsidiaries. 

+ Watershed Distillery Acquired by Marussia Beverages USA 

Founded by Greg Lehman, Watershed Distillery was purchased by Cedar Knolls, New Jersey-based Marussia Beverages USA – a national importer of premium spirits, sake, and wines. Marussia Beverages USA is part of the larger global group Marussia Beverages.
