+ SURGE Raised $32M in Series B Round

SURGE is a private Massachusetts-based biotechnology company focused on improving cancer patient survival outcomes post-surgery. The Series B funding round resulted in $32M raised. The funding will support the development of the company’s intraoperative immunotherapy programs. 


+ RISC Zero Received $40M in Series A Funding 

Headquartered in Seattle, Washington, RISC Zero develops zero-knowledge (ZK) virtual machine technology. Investors in the Series A round included Galaxy Digital, Maven 11, Delphi Digital, Aglaé Ventures, Figment Capital, and Alchemy Ventures among others.  


+ Sedna Raised $42M in a Private Equity Round

The England-based SaaS company plans to use the funds raised to develop new solutions including AI and data science. Other goals of SEDNA include the advancement of automation, risk minimization, decision-making, and driving overall commercial success. 


+ Futureverse Received $54M in Series A Round 

The result of a merger between 11 different startups across multiple sectors, Futureverse is a company that develops AI-powered video games and digital wallets. Shara Senderoff, one of the company’s co-founders, says one of its core missions is to provide the tech infrastructure underlying users’ experience in the metaverse. 


+ Bellwether Enterprise Raised $65M in Debt Funding

Private mortgage banking company Bellwether Enterprise raised $65M in a Debt round. The Cleveland, Ohio-based company provides loans for a range of institutional investors. Properties in North Carolina, Virginia, Mississippi, and Texas will be refinanced and renovated using the funds.

🤝 CATCH UP ON JULY ACQUISITIONS

+ Senske Acquired National Turf Service 

Headquartered in Kennewick, Washington, Senske provides maintenance services including pest control and tree care to commercial and residential sectors. The acquisition of lawn care solutions company National Turf Service is Senske's fifth successful acquisition in 2023. 

+ Sojern Acquired VenueLytics

Travel marketing platform Sojern has been a longtime provider of digital advertising and conversion solutions for hotels. With its acquisition of VenueLytics, Sojern expects to incorporate its subsidiary’s capabilities into its existing platform.  

+ Versanis Acquired by Eli Lilly 

New York-based biotechnology company Versanis discovers and develops medicines for the treatment of obesity and cardiometabolic diseases. It was announced in July that pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly acquired Versanis, expanding the company's portfolio of obesity drugs. 

+ EcoAct Acquired By Schneider Electric 

A provider of climate and CO2 emissions consulting, EcoAct focuses on strategy, climate risk studies and sustainability reporting. EcoAct will be integrated into the Sustainability Business division of Schneider Electric. 

+ Cisco Acquired Oort 

Multinational technology firm Cisco acquired Massachusetts-based cloud-native cybersecurity platform, Oort. Cisco has been a strategic investor in Oort since 2022, and the company intends to leverage Oort’s technology to improve Cisco’s security cloud portfolios.
