Business software vendor Infor said Wednesday it has bought the intellectual property (IP) rights to an integrated process manufacturing software product made by logistics software provider EVS LLC.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Boulder, Colo.-based EVS sells enterprise resource planning (ERP) and warehouse management system (WMS) software including mobe3, a cloud-based WMS product that uses artificial intelligence (AI) and scenario modeling to improve efficiency, EVS says.
The software product purchased by Infor—called Process Industry Pack—is already in wide use among Infor's enterprise customers in highly regulated industries such as chemical and food manufacturing, according to Infor. Those customers use the software to manage formulas, schedule and build batches based on flexible manufacturing specifications, and monitor and respond to evolving regulatory environments, the company said.
The move is the latest investment in logistics software platforms by Infor, which spent $675 million in 2015 to buy the cloud-based commerce platform vendor GT Nexus, and in 2017 launched an AI-based platform called "Coleman" to support its "CloudSuite" Industrial ERP application.
