More on Amazon Prime Day

Amazon launched Prime Day in 2015 to celebrate its 20th anniversary. The first Amazon Prime Day was a one-day retail holiday for Prime members. Since then, Prime Day has overtaken Black Friday and Cyber Monday as the biggest annual sales event on Amazon, with better deals on more products resulting in increased sales (and Prime memberships).

Despite inflation concerns, according to Adobe Analytics data, the self-made shopping holiday drove record online spending of $22.4 Billion Dollars in 2022 (6.1% growth YOY).

Last year (according to Tinuiti data), it was clear that many saw Prime Day as a huge opportunity to get in front of high-intent shoppers and were willing to pay to do so. Sponsored Products spend rose 33% in 2022 compared to Prime Day 2021, which took place from June 21 to June 22. Sponsored Brands spend increased 40%, and Sponsored Display spend soared an incredible 62% compared to last year’s event.
