/ Magic moment: Domo named a Gartner Challenger

Last week, Domo was named a Challenger on the 2021 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Analytics and BI Platforms, and it didn’t come as a surprise to any of us who have been with the company for at least the past 12 months.

During a period of epic change and disruption, a cloud-native SaaS product built by people who have always been willing to work hard and challenge the status quo met the moment. And the world’s biggest tech advisory firm took notice.

Our move from a Niche Player to a Challenger was based on our completeness of vision and ability to execute across 15 critical capabilities. But we know our business momentum, speed of deployment, and focus on serving the business user factored into the placement, as well.

Last year, Domo experienced a 25% increase in subscription revenue, signaling that existing customers were happy and new ones wanted what we were offering: BI leverage at cloud scale in record time.

We also became the platform of choice for organizations needing to get more out of their tech stacks, thanks in large part to our unrivaled ability to leverage existing systems and integrate data from dynamically changing sources.

And as new market conditions made it important for all types of workers to have more decision-making visibility, we provided just the right solution: one that’s intuitive and puts actionable, real-time insights at the fingertips of everyone, from the CEO on down to customer-service reps.

Indeed, many of our strengths were on full display in 2020. And we’re proud to be recognized by Gartner in such a way. But we’re not satisfied with being a Challenger.

As you’ll see next month at Domopalooza 2021, we’re already testing new boundaries. We want to pioneer the new normal for modern, more useful business intelligence. And all that goes into such an effort will be showcased March 24 through virtual keynotes, roundtables, and workshops led by or featuring data visionaries and industry analysts.

The way we see it, bringing together a community of forward thinkers is what challengers do. And having conversations about Modern BI is what makes the most sense.

Now more than ever, organizations need to look at BI through a different lens. They need to model their BI on the questions they need to ask, not model their questions on what their BI is set up to tell them. And they need to challenge their BI to provide more and achieve better outcomes.

Because if your BI can do that, then that’s where you’ll find the real magic.
